With its large Catholic and Orthodox congregations, Lviv enjoys the longest Christmas holiday period in the world, from 24 December to 14 January. The mood throughout is in keeping with the city’s laid-back bohemian roots.
FROM AIRPORT TO CITY
Public transport from Lviv airport is erratic so visitors are advised to hop in a taxi – but be prepared to haggle and try not to pay more than 60 hryvni (€5) for a ride into the city centre!
