SNAPSHOT

If ever I need to feel a bit more Christmassy, I always get my boost from one of the many more-festive-than-thou Parisian Christmas markets. (Try Marché Saint Germain, for example.) In January head to Haussmann for a post-Noël department store dash or Le Marais for more choosey boutique bargains.

Parisians would be shamed by serving bad wine, so if you’re budgeting, pick the vin de table with dinner.
